Editing Officially Commences

I've always wondered why it took so long for films to complete the post-production process. Now I am getting a first hand feel for it.

The editing of
Chris Seligmiller's The Misguided has officially started. I have been working hard on creating an EDL sheet from Chris' edit notes, and I will be getting all of that information over to our editor this week. We should have a rough, rough cut in about a week or so, and the real editing can begin.

It's actually been a good break to be away from the project for the last few months. I have a fresh take on it coming back to the edit process, and I am excited about completing the film.

There's much more to come, so stay tuned...

Wow - Another Week Already?!?

The weeks are just flying by! I can't believe it's been a week since my last post. Well, to get you all caught up, here what's been going on...

We completed the second week of shooting on Untitled, and things are looking great! With only a few minor setbacks and incidents (sorry Ronnie) things have been running extremely smooth. We've managed to stay on schedule and get all of the shots that we've needed so far. I can't wait to see the final product!

We have an aggressive weekend of shooting coming up, but I'm ready for it. I have absolutely loved playing the character of Daniel in this film, and I'm going to be sad when it's over. I feel privileged to be surrounded by such a professional cast and crew and I hope we can all work together again.

I started a new acting class with Yvonne Suhor and I love it! It focuses on the organic process, and learning how to act from the inside. I'm ready for the new challenge! Click HERE for more info on Yvonne's classes at the Art-Sake studio.

That's about all for now, but there's much more to come... so stay tuned!

"Untitled" - Week One Completed!

Wow - what a great first week of shooting! I truly think that we have a guardian angel on our side. Everything is just falling into place with this production. For example:
  • Our location for our first day of shooting fell through the week prior to the shoot. However, our Assistant Director (Brett Register) found a new location that ended up working out better than the original.

  • We had trouble securing our sound equipment last week, but our Director of Photography (Tim Riese) was able to secure different equipment a few days before the shoot.

  • Our unique car for the shoot fell through a couple of days prior to the shoot. I was lucky enough to secure a better car the day before.

  • The day of the shoot, we lost the availability of one of our actors. After some frantic calling, Ronnie Graham drove down from Daytona and gave a terrific performance.

  • The prop guns that we needed did not arrive in time for the shoot. However, a friend of mine had the exact same prop guns that we needed, and he was nice enough to allow us to use them for the first days of the shoot.

I think you get the idea. As everything was starting to fall apart around us, our guardian angel was building it back up.

Aside from all of the issues, our cast and crew are incredible - and they have created an extremely professional set. If this first weekend is any sign for the future, then there are good thing waiting ahead for Untitled.

One Week Away

It's crunch time! We are a week away from the start of production for Untitled.

Overall, I feel good about it. Things are really falling into place - the locations, the cast, the insurance & permits, the props - it all seems to be coming together nicely. Philip Bache (Director) and Tim Riese (Director of Photography) have been working hard on the shot list and Karen Trudeau (Production Manager) has been coordinating all of the behind the scenes logistics. I have a really good feeling about this one.

This upcoming week will be filled with last minute preparations, a lot of rehearsing, and of course, stress! But from what I've seen so far, it will all be worth it in the end. Stay tuned...
