Scene Study - Week 3

What a great class this week in Scene Study!

First, I really felt connected with the Meisner exercises (which are all about being in the moment and having a true emotional connection with your partner). I felt a new level of that this week, as well as maintaining a decent flow and increasing my vocabulary. Sweet!

Also,
Niki Breit and I performed a scene from Autumn in New York, and it went really well. Once again, I felt true ownership of the character, and I felt completely in the moment with Niki. It was a great experience! Also, I was able to channel my nervous energy as part of the character to enhance the scene. It was truly a break-through week for me!

Work on the way!

Even though I was very rusty at my last round of auditions, I still managed to obtain a supporting role in an upcoming short film, Chug-O-Matic, playing a business executive. I must keep auditioning as much as possible to stay fresh!

My scene study class is awesome! I love it, and my first scene went great! My classmate Jennifer and I did a scene from Sex, Lies and Videotape. It was a lot of fun! I have another scene coming up this week from Autumn in New York with my classmate Niki. I can't wait!

It is such a comfortable atmosphere, and I absolutely love my classmates (and my teacher Yvonne Suhor). I also am feeling much more comfortable with the Meisner exercises as well. I can feel my artistic muscles expanding :)

Now if only I can get my other muscles to do the same...

It's Showtime - West Coast Style

I've recently added a new link to a blog by a fellow actor known as Showtime.

Since we are both climbing the acting ladder, it's nice to have a West Coast perspective on things. Showtime is also studying Meisner and going through the same trials and tribulations as yours truly.

Please take a moment and click on the link to the ShowtimeLA blog and show some love for my fellow West Coast actor.

It's Been A While!

Wow - it's truly amazing how fast time flies! I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. For those of you still out there that check on my blog, sorry I haven't been posting. I promise to keep it more up to date. Thanks for being patient with me :)

Well, I guess the best thing to do is get you caught up on everything. So, without further ado, here we go...

  • For the first time in a while, I went to a few auditions this past weekend. I was clearly rusty, and I definitely need to do that more often for the practice. Like anything else, the more you do it, the better you become at it.

  • I was cast for an episode of Dr. G: Medical Examiner - we shot it this past weekend. It was a fun shoot, and I hope to do another one soon. The show will air on the Discovery Health Channel in a few months. I will keep you informed when I get the official air date.

  • I started a new round of acting classes with Yvonne Suhor. This is her Level II - Scene Study class and it is a blast! I absolutely love the class and all of my fellow students - we have such a strong bond and it really helps us take the risks we need to advance and succeed.

  • The edit for The Misguided is progressing slowly. Because of time conflicts, we have not been able to do much with it for a few weeks. I hope to get back on it again soon. I am excited about the potential of the final product, and my goal is to have something finished by the end of June.

Well, that's about it for now, but stay tuned - more will follow.
I promise :)
